What’s your story?

I am a lifelong learner, deeply passionate about and inspired by nature’s boundless wisdom. Like many women, I’ve navigated the transformative phases of perimenopause and menopause. In my search for answers to ease these life stages, I studied natural skincare formulation, exploring the ways nature can holistically and sustainably support our well-being. With a vision to redefine ageing as a chapter of empowerment and self-love rather than a period of decline, MISEICO was born. More than just products, MISEICO offers sustainable skincare and wellness solutions that are a testament to the belief that age mirrors wisdom, experience, and the beauty of evolution. We champion each individual’s journey, encouraging them to embrace life’s stages with grace, confidence, and a commitment to holistic well-being.

 

How & Why did you start your company/passion work? 

Starting a business is both challenging and rewarding: 1. Trust Your Instincts: Your intuition, honed by your experiences as a woman and possibly a mother, is a powerful tool. Use it to guide your decisions and understand your target audience better. 2. Embrace the Journey: There will be ups and downs, but each challenge presents an opportunity for growth and learning. Celebrate your successes, big or small, and learn from the setbacks. 3. Seek Support: Surround yourself with a strong support system, be it family, friends, or like-minded entrepreneurs. Remember, asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness. 4. Balance & Boundaries: It’s essential to set boundaries and prioritise self-care. While passion and determination are vital, so is taking time for yourself and your loved ones. 5. Stay Authentic: Your authenticity will resonate with your audience and set you apart in the marketplace. Stay true to your values and mission.

 

How do you bring BALANCE to your roles as MOTHER: FOUNDER: SELF? 

Balancing the roles of MOTHER:FOUNDER:SELF requires intention, flexibility, and self-awareness. Here’s how I approach it: 1. Prioritize Self-Care: This is foundational. By ensuring I recharge mentally, emotionally, and physically, I can give my best to both my family and my business. Whether it’s a short workout or just some quiet reading time, I make it a point to carve out moments for myself. 2. Time Blocking: Designating specific chunks of time for work, family, and personal pursuits helps create clear boundaries. For instance, setting ‘office hours’ for work and specific quality time for my children ensures that each role receives dedicated attention. 3. Seek Support: I lean on my support system—be it family, friends, or team members—to help manage tasks, provide emotional support, or simply lend a listening ear. 4. Reflect and Adjust: Every week, I reflect on what went well and what didn’t. This helps me adjust my strategies and ensures that no role overshadows the others for an extended period.

 

Any recent accomplishment you would like to share with us? (personal/professional) 

On the professional front, MISEICO recently launched our Aromatherapy Elixirs, a line crafted to support those navigating the challenges of perimenopause and menopause. The response has been overwhelmingly positive, reinforcing our mission to offer sustainable skincare and wellness solutions and to champion a holistic approach to well-being. On a personal note, I recently completed a mindset course, which not only advanced my personal development but also equipped me with tools to integrate a growth mindset into MISEICO’s brand ethos and product experience. Both of these accomplishments underscore my commitment to continuous learning and growth, both for the benefit of MISEICO’s community and for my personal journey.

What’s your story?

I’m a mother of 2 lively boys. I love traveling, and I lived in 5 countries across the world.

 

 

How & Why did you start your company/passion work? 

I fell in love with Singapore when I arrived, and every weekend I would bring my husband and kids to visit new places. That’s how I started creating engaging activities for them to play during the visits.

 

How do you bring BALANCE to your roles as MOTHER: FOUNDER: SELF? 

Finding a balance is always challenging, but starting your own business will give you the flexibility to play both roles.

 

What would you like to say to fellow mothers or women thinking of starting a business? 

If you are passionate, go for it! Getting results and making it work will be challenging, so you need to be passionate about what you do to survive the entrepreneurship journey.

The face behind The Eco-Statement- Sangeetha Nair

What’s your story?

I have a deep interest in the field of sustainable urban living. I am the founder of The Eco-Statement (www.theecostatement.com) and the creator of Singapore’s 1st Eco Board Game and Card Game). I created the games to bring fun and engagement for children as they learn about sustainability and sustainable living (these are big words and concepts for our little ones to understand!). I hope that learning through play nurtures in children the love for our world; trusting that they will look after what they love.

 

 

How & Why did you start your company/passion work? 

As an Educator, I have been talking and teaching about Sustainability issues, Sustainable Development. Through the journey the question that keeps coming to me is: How can we equip our future generation to face Sustainability related risks & challenges? How can we cultivate the values & mindset of Sustainable Living? Establishing aspects of Sustainable Living as part of everyone’s day-to-day existence through fun and activities eventually became a solution that should empower everyone to create their own ‘Eco-Statement’. I hope that learning through play nurtures in children the love for our world; trusting that they will look after what they love.

 

How do you bring BALANCE to your roles as MOTHER: FOUNDER: SELF? 

Juggle like a pro! Prioritize, delegate, flex, and remember to sneak in some “me time” for sanity’s sake.

The face behind HealthOptix | Symbionat- Yongyan Liu

What’s your story?

Moving around with my family over the past 23 years, Building Sustainable Business and Home is always challenging. Many people just come and go, I choose to retain all relevant values. Now I have businesses in Shanghai, Hong Kong and just started a new company in Singapore – HealthOptix, and still have a strong connection with the Nordic circle in all local markets. The trick is to choose the right operational partners and continuously add value into the business no matter where you are. I’m in Health and Wellness industry, I lock my strength in strategy and development. Today, I fly around Hong Kong, mainland China and Singapore, working with my local partners to develop for a healthier and more sustainable world.

 

How & Why did you start your company/passion work? 

I was in branding, working long hours, having bad health conscious, not sustainable. During the covid years, I branded a health business, and got invited to co-found this new business. I opened a blue ocean, it is a whole new world rooted in Micronutrition and empowered by cutting-edge Health-tech. That year I thought: if I can not earn money, at least I can earn health! My passion is to earn BOTH, and leave something meaningful behind me. I of course have been in many crossroad moments, constantly having identify crisis. It’s part of the entrepreneur package, you take on adventure, push yourself out from the comfort zone, reach to a new level, doubt about your capability, break through it and move on… again and again. From an employee to an entrepreneur, from a Mother to a Mother/Founder, from working alone to leading a team, from winning to losing and vice verses… Belief and resilience are your only friends.

 

 

How do you bring BALANCE to your roles as MOTHER: FOUNDER: SELF? 

When working, focus and get immersed at work; When spending time with family, stay away from work; Give yourself your own time. I like rowing and listening to audio books at double speed. Everyone can find her own way.

 

Any recent accomplishment you would like to share with us? (personal/professional) 

Never stop studying, growing makes me proud and happy. Finished MIT AI Strategy course study, now heading to study for a new Holistic Health Certificate for 50 countries.

 

What would you like to say to fellow mothers or women thinking of starting a business? 

It’s important to know your strength and think for long term.

 

What are three words you would use to describe your experience of being a Mother/Founder ? 

Joyful, fruitful, meaningful
