What’s your Story?

Living as my authentic self, in love with painting and connecting with nature. Laughter and breathwork is my medicine. My journey into birth work was sparked by my traumatic birth experience and postpartum depression. Through my experience, I saw the gap in support and empowerment in women to take charge of their health and birth. Through the last 5 years, I’ve evolved the business and now offer women’s coaching, parenting coaching and trauma release through somatics. Currently learning from Dr Gabor Mate to deepen my skills to support women who have experienced any kind of trauma.

How & Why did you start your company/passion work? 

My journey into birth work was sparked by my traumatic birth experience and postpartum depression. Through my experience, I saw the gap in support and empowerment in women to take charge of their health and birth. Through the last 5 years, I’ve evolved the business and now offer women’s coaching, parenting coaching and trauma release through somatics. Currently learning from Dr Gabor Mate to deepen my skills to support women who have experienced any kind of trauma.

How do you bring BALANCE to your roles as MOTHER: FOUNDER: SELF? 

Striking balance as a mother, founder, and individual is rooted in aligning with my values and intentions. A cornerstone of this balance is trusting my intuition and embracing mindfulness, which demands grounding and presence. Integrating breathwork into my mornings and evenings, along with regular meditation and journaling, forms a vital part of my daily routine. Setting clear intentions and boundaries help me decide where my energy should go. Every Friday, I carve out a dedicated three hours for self-care, and every quarter, I treat myself to a rejuvenating staycation, reveling in the bliss of solitude. Working with a coach has also helped me!

Any recent accomplishment you would like to share with us? (personal/professional) 

I’ve come really far on my own healing journey and I’ve really proud of it! We’ve been invited to podcasts (Honeykids Asia) and even featured on a documentary with Vasantham. Proud to have won awards with Expat Living as well

 

What would you like to say to fellow mothers or women thinking of starting a business? 

There will be multiple times where you feel like your heart is pulled in different directions. It’s so important to prioritize self-care without guilt. Taking care of yourself is not a luxury but a necessity for sustained success in both your personal and professional life. Recognize the unique strengths and skills you bring as a mother. Parenthood hones resilience, time-management, and multitasking abilities—valuable assets in entrepreneurship. Don’t hesitate to seek support from family, friends, or professionals. Delegating tasks allows you to focus on essential aspects of both motherhood and business.

What are three words you would use to describe your experience of being a Mother/Founder ?

What’s your story?

Hi I’m Evie, a registered nurse, founder of Evelyn Bonney Sleep Consulting, mum of 3 (including twins!) and a certified Sleep Sense Consultant. As a Sleep Sense Certified consultant, with 20 years of nursing experience I support parents when they need it most.

How & Why did you start your company/passion work? 

When I found out I was expecting twins everything changed. I was working full time as a nurse and pediatric clinic manager and I LOVED my job. I knew I wanted to keep supporting families but I now also needed the flexibility to look after not one but two babies. So, I trained as a sleep consultant and started my own business! I can now be around for my twins but also combine all my nursing experience with what I love the most: Empowering families with knowledge and education so they can enjoy their parenting journey.

How do you bring BALANCE to your roles as MOTHER: FOUNDER: SELF? 

With difficulty! It’s a constant juggle. I have to remind myself daily what to prioritise and allow myself the grace to accept the things that I can’t get to.

Any recent accomplishment you would like to share with us? (personal/professional) 

My Business is one year old and I have started offering group coaching workshops to try and support more families!

What would you like to say to fellow mothers or women thinking of starting a business? 

Do it! Its empowering, hard and totally rewarding all in one!

What’s your story?

Well, I’m a full-time superhero mom, donning my cape by day and my writer’s hat by night. By day, I’m a dedicated Growth Manager, steering the ship of a private organization toward prosperity. I specialize in crafting strategies that foster growth, efficiency, and innovation. But that’s not all! Beyond the boardroom, I don a different hat, that of a skilled blogger. My writing style is characterized by its humor, wit, and an inherent sense of fun. My blog is a testament to this, offering readers an enjoyable escape from the mundane. Furthermore, I’m a Content Strategist, adept at shaping brand identities and crafting compelling narratives. This role involves a delicate dance between strategy and creativity, resulting in a symphony of brand success stories. And then there’s the most epic role of all: Mom. Balancing the chaos of work and life is a rollercoaster I wouldn’t trade for the world. It’s a wild adventure, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

 

How & Why did you start your company/passion work? 

I am a food engineering graduate with a master’s degree specializing in food nanotechnology. My passion for writing ignited at an early age, when my first poem was published in “THE HINDU” during my grade 2. From there till now, I have been a co-author of a couple of scientific books. This fervor for writing took a new direction as I ventured into the world of blogging, where I poured my 3 a.m. thoughts onto the digital canvas. Gradually, I transformed my passion into a profession because I firmly believe in the adage,

“Love what you do, and do what you love to survive.“

My journey commenced as a content developer and evolved into a content strategist. I also had the privilege of working as a corporate communication specialist in the dynamic landscape of the United Arab Emirates. In addition I wear several hats, including those of a voice-over artist, scriptwriter and a budding artist. Today, I am spreading my wings even further, aiming higher, and assisting brands in their growth journey as a Growth Manager. At work- I’m all about teamwork at work, often dubbed ‘Captain Cool’ by colleagues. Approachable and lively, I believe in creating a positive work environment. At home- But when it’s family time, it’s a whole different game – no work distractions allowed. I’m fully present for my loved ones while pursuing my passion. I deliberately took a career break to savor those precious moments with my little ones. I didn’t want them cared for by anyone else; I wanted to be there for their first steps, first words, and all the little joys in between. I deeply admire moms who balance it all, but I was fortunate enough to take a break. I lived those moments and when I was ready, I came back – better and stronger! So mommys don’t fear the career break. Trust the process and get back when you are really ready for it!

What would you like to say to fellow mothers or women thinking of starting a business? 

To my fellow mommys out there, It may seem daunting to juggle parenthood with entrepreneurship, but remember, you’ve already mastered the art of multitasking like a pro. So, why not channel that superpower into creating something remarkable? Starting a business or chasing your dreams is like embarking on an exciting adventure. Sure, there will be challenges along the way, but every twist and turn is an opportunity for growth. And let’s not forget the immense satisfaction that comes from building something of your own. So, put on your ‘Mompreneur’ cape and take that leap of faith. The world needs more of your unique talents and perspectives. Your journey might not always be smooth, but it will undoubtedly be worth it.

What are three words you would use to describe your experience of being a Mother/Founder ? 

Three words to describe my experience as a mother-founder would be: Inspiring, challenging, and rewarding.

What’s your story?

I’m a Multidimensional Coach/Healer and Founder at Be U Til Full. I know many of us have done a lot of work on personal development and even spent thousands of $$$ in different healings and energy work. What is most frustrating is that even after spending soooo much time and money, many of us still haven’t achieved what we really wanted to achieve, whether it was success in personal life, business, career, or relationships. We still feel that void and feel that there’s an unseen, hidden, transparent block somewhere that U can’t put your finger on. And no, I’m not talking about just Mindset or Limiting beliefs. Mindset, although a very important aspect, can only be a part of the cause and solution but not necessarily the whole cause or whole solution. This is where I come in. I look at U and your situation Wholistically. Most people only work from mindset to energetic levels and I have been helping people resolve their issues from a consciousness level, where everything starts. Merging traditional healing methods with cutting-edge technology, the therapy that l use creates your own personalised analysis, based on your unique energy field. We then treat the root causes whether they are in your conscious/sub-conscious level, so that you can live the Healthy, Joyful and Abundant Life that U deserve in Person, Relationships and Business. I help U discover what’s REALLY Blocking U and then harmonise those imbalances. Not just mindset. How & Why did you start your company/passion work? 

Be U Til Full was born as a result of a trauma awakening when mainstream treatments failed and left me on my own. I looked for answers within and realised then, the importance of my own personal well-being, on all levels. I was an Empowerment Coach prior to the trauma. I loved seeing the positive transformations in my clients. I worked on my own healing holistically. It was my time to transform Stress, Shame, Fear and Not Feeling Good Enough into Confidence, Self-love and Joy to live a thriving life, fearlessly!! Gradually, l resumed helping others again, using the tools that l had gathered during my own healing journey. It’s so fulfilling to help another see past their limitations and find joy and self-love (again). Be U Til Full is more than a business; it’s a movement dedicated to creating non-judgemental and supportive communities where individuals can flourish without fear of others’ opinions. At Be U Til Full, we stand for confident, healthy, and joyful adults who are celebrated for their U-ness. There are soooo many opportunities!!! See what you really love… U don’t wanna be overwhelmed. I feel a Business idea needs to come from within, something U are really inspired by and passionate about. It’s a very personal and spiritual journey. How and what U create in the world, and what problems it solves for your audience, is a great service. It’s not easy, but definitely worth it. Your joy and passion of what U will be doing, is what will get U through U on rainy days.

Her clay based customized jewellery brings with it the spirit of Joy and Celebration!

 

Then In the bustling streets of Hong Kong, we find another extraordinary mother founder, Nat, who embodies the spirit of resilience and innovation. Nat runs not one but two businesses, each dedicated to improving the lives of mothers and families. Her first venture specializes in health and mental wealth, offering a range of services that empower mothers to prioritize self-care, well-being, and mental health in their daily lives. Recognizing the challenges that often accompany motherhood, she has created services that provides support, resources, and guidance for navigating the intricacies of mental well-being. Her second business, driven by her passion for sustainable fashion, focuses on delivering high-quality baby products. In an era when safety and comfort are paramount, she’s curated a selection of items that not only meet the stringent standards but also ensure that mothers can trust the products they use.

Amidst the hustle and bustle of the festive season, we also encounter Kavitha, a remarkable motherfounder with a keen eye for creativity. Kavitha’s passion for art and design led her to establish a business that specializes in colorful portraits and unique home decor products. Her handcrafted creations are a fusion of vibrant colors and intricate designs, each piece reflecting her artistic uniqueness.

Vibhuti Gupta’s return to the fashion industry is nothing short of inspirational. After an eight-year hiatus dedicated to nurturing her family, she is now embarking on a new chapter of her career. Her decision to resume work, fueled by her enduring passion for fashion, reflects her resilience and determination. It’s a reminder that life’s various chapters, including those focused on family, can coexist with professional ambitions. What’s your story?

I am a Social Entrepreneur, Consultant, Award-Winning FemTech Founder, Board Advisor and Women’s Health Advocate.

How & Why did you start your company/passion work? 

With each international moves comes an opportunity to reprioritise, reinvent and reestablish ourselves. When I relocated to Singapore, I identified a gap in the regional market for a FemTech-focused consultancy and professional association. Since October 2021, FemTech Association Asia has been building the ecosystem for the women’s health and technology sector in Asia, supporting founders, investors, professionals and corporates through advisory, thought leadership, amplification, programming and community-building.

 

How do you bring BALANCE to your roles as MOTHER: FOUNDER: SELF? 

I have not brought balance to my life yet, but am constantly learning from others to integrate small changes in my life to work towards it!

 

Any recent accomplishment you would like to share with us? (personal/professional) 

I have been included on the “2023 Singapore 100 Women in Tech” list for the work we do with FemTech Association Asia as announced by Singapore Computer Society & IMDA.

What would you like to say to fellow mothers or women thinking of starting a business? 

For prospective founders, I would suggest starting with extensive market-research to ensure a product-market fit and that the idea is solving a problem and not just creating a product or service. From there, I would identify the exit strategy. While all of the above can change, it is good to understand your purpose and plan, or the “why”.
