Who is Kanika from Anek Designs?

As Kanika says:

Hi I am Kanika, founder of Anek Designs, a boutique specialising in textile products for you and your home.
Anek is a Hindi word for many, it represents the many textile craft traditions of India. At Anek Designs we work with traditional textiles combining them with contemporary aesthetics. Our products sit at ease in both modern and traditional homes. When we source our Kantha or Kalamkari fabrics directly from the Artisans, we do our little bit towards keeping these crafts alive and relevant. We strive to work with quality products, unique fabrics and attention to detail. We have been selling internationally via Etsy, our website and through various brick and mortar stores in India for almost 10 years now.

I graduated from National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad, India as a Textile Designer. It is here that I was introduced to the riches, stories and history of textile crafts of India. During my initial years as a designer, I worked for design studios in Delhi NCR catering to various clients like Pottery Barn, Crate and Barrel etc.
Marriage took me to Pune where I started out on my own as a freelancer first and then as a designer maker. I sold my first ever product on my Blog! Blogs were still new and catching on in India at the time and there was a wonderful community of fellow women design bloggers who rooted for me and encouraged me to start. My business followed me as I followed my husband’s job from Pune to Mumbai to London and now Singapore. My father supports the business post his retirement and helps manage our workshop located in Gurgaon, India.

Anek Designs participates in various Bazaars and Pop Up Events throughout the year in Singapore and I love these opportunities to connect with our customers and supporters!
