What’s your story?
I would describe myself, first and foremost, as a proud mother of two beautiful girls. My journey with Chomcharm is driven by my passion for infusing joy into people’s lives through exquisite artisan-made kaolin ceramics. This mission is deeply inspired by the experiences and joys of motherhood, which add a layer of inspiration to everything I do.
How & Why did you start your company/passion work?
My journey with Chomcharm began during my travels around the world when I discovered the unique beauty of kaolin ceramics. This moment was a crossroads for me as I realized that these exquisite pieces, beloved in Europe for their timeless elegance and craftsmanship, had the potential to captivate discerning customers in Singapore. The desire to share this unique beauty and enduring charm with my wonderful friends in Singapore fueled the creation of Chomcharm.
How do you bring BALANCE to your roles as MOTHER: FOUNDER: SELF?
Balancing the roles of a mother-founder and personal well-being can be a juggling act. I prioritize by setting boundaries and creating a structured schedule that allows me to allocate dedicated time for both my business and my family. It’s important to find moments for self-care to stay energized and focused.
Any recent accomplishment you would like to share with us? (personal/professional)
One of our recent professional accomplishments is the successful launch of our website, where we offer our customers a curated selection of artisan-made ceramics and driftwood home decor. Additionally, we’ve had the privilege of participating in esteemed events like Design Fair Asia, where we showcased our exquisite creations to a wider audience, receiving positive feedback and building valuable connections.

The face behind ANJIALIVING- Dana Wolf
What’s your story?
I am the embodiment of a cross-cultural journey, a fusion of East and West that shapes my very identity. Born amidst the vibrant tapestry of Taiwan, my early footsteps led me to Austria at the tender age of three. A convergence of two worlds became the cornerstone of my upbringing, gifting me with the unique ability to bridge the gap between disparate cultures and languages. Now, as I navigate the realm of business, this cherished advantage serves as my North Star. I am a conduit between the familiar cadence of the West and the deep-rooted wisdom of the East. My understanding of Western ideals is seasoned with the foundation of Eastern principles, granting me the ability to approach challenges from multiple angles. In a world that is becoming increasingly interconnected, I offer a fresh perspective that harmonizes the best of both worlds.
How & Why did you start your company/passion work? Did you have a crossroad moment?
Even as a young child, I was drawn to the mystique of feng shui, voraciously consuming every book on the subject that I could get my hands on. But it wasn’t until our transition from Europe to the vibrant heart of Singapore that a pivotal crossroad moment beckoned. Singapore, a thriving hub of feng shui wisdom, became my canvas for transformation. Recognizing the city’s prominence as a feng shui epicenter, I embraced the opportunity to learn from the very best. Guided by three accomplished feng shui masters, I embarked on a journey of education and refinement, honing my skills to perfection. The decision to transition my lifelong passion into a full-fledged profession was a profound one. I realized that I possessed a rare confluence of passion and expertise, a potent blend that could bring positive change to people’s lives.
How do you bring BALANCE to your roles as MOTHER:FOUNDER:SELF?
Firstly, it’s all about prioritization: recognizing that there are only 24 hours in a day and some things will take precedence over others. I’ve learned to pinpoint what truly needs immediate attention in each role, and that helps me allocate time more effectively. Secondly, delegation has been a game-changer. I’ve embraced the idea that I don’t have to do it all alone. Whether it’s at home or within my business, I’ve learned to ask for help when needed. Surrounding myself with a supportive network has lightened the load and allowed me to excel in each role. Perhaps the most important lesson has been self-compassion. I’ve come to realize that striving for perfection in all three roles is both unrealistic and unnecessary. Giving myself permission to acknowledge imperfections has relieved a significant amount of pressure. Being kind to myself and understanding that there will be days when things don’t go perfectly has been crucial for maintaining balance.
What would you like to say to fellow mothers or women thinking of starting a business?
Go for it! We’re already superheroes, juggling endless roles. From dreaming to doing, we’ve got what it takes to make things happen. Our multitasking skills and resilience are a perfect match for business. So, turn your dreams into reality – just as we conquer daily challenges, we can conquer the business world too. Embrace the journey, and let your superpowers shine!
Would you like us to highlight previous/current accomplishments? ( personal/ professional)
I’ve just returned from a rejuvenating holiday in Austria. For the first time in a while, I managed to completely disconnect from work for a continuous two weeks. This time away allowed me to recharge my energy and perspective. Being able to immerse myself in quality time with family and friends was truly priceless. It’s incredible how stepping away from the daily grind can give you a fresh outlook and a renewed sense of purpose. The experiences, laughter, and connections I shared during this holiday were nothing short of amazing. Taking this break has reminded me of the importance of balance and self-care. It’s easy to get caught up in the hustle, but moments like these provide a chance to reset and return to my work and responsibilities with a clearer mind and renewed enthusiasm.

Who is kavitha dashinamoorthi from Ambi Arts?
My Story:
I have been creating art since the age of 10. But I started pursuing art as a business just last year and my son is my biggest muse. Although I am a self taught artist, I’ve been sketching portrait for years. As I draw or paint, my son gets excited and imitates whatever I create. He has grown confident in his creations and inevitability motivates to me to try out new things with my art! My art gives warmth and joy to homeowners who are looking to spicing up their homes with colours! I’m also looking forward to expanding into workshops for kids as art is a great therapy for all!
How do you bring BALANCE to your roles as MOTHER:FOUNDER:SELF? I’m no expert in motherhood or in art so I feel I’m learning these roles along the way. They’re very much intertwined as most of my art pieces tell parts of my story as a woman and a mother. As the only caregiver for my son, I’ve learnt to have prioritize what’s important at that moment.
My Win :
I’m part of a mother artist’s community and as a result, I have my first art exhibition, together with other 22 mom artists at Design Orchard, until 15 June! The chosen art is related ‘I am a mother!’ and how art is used to describe motherhood.

Who is Rashmi from Oak Tree Living?
As Rashmi says:
I am Rashmi Lohani, co-founder of Oak Tree Living, an online homeware brand specializing in distinct handcrafted products that are uniquely Indian with a global appeal.
I founded OTL in October 2022 along with my brother Lokesh.
Three words that describe me best are- perfectionist, purposeful and positive. These three attributes have shaped me as a mother and a professional, juggling family and a successful career hand in hand.
From being a media professional to launching my own business venture, it’s been quite a journey. After working in the creative industry for 16yrs in Singapore, conceptualizing and producing content for one of the most iconic kids’ brand, I decided to pursue my dream of becoming a social entrepreneur.
My crossroads moment came in October 2021. I no longer had a full time job, kids were old enough to be fairly independent and I had the confidence and the finances to start my own business, it was now or never!
I’d always had an eye for aesthetics and great appreciation for handmade products. Working with Indian artisans and bringing their creations to Singapore is something I’d often thought about. And it is this passion combined with my desire to be an entrepreneur that resulted in the birth of Oak Tree Living. After a year of research, sourcing and multiple trips to India, I launched my own online homeware brand Oak Tree Living in October, 2022.
OTL is a very lean team and we pretty much handle everything ourselves, right from sourcing to quality checks to making sure that products reach our clients on time. It’s still early days for us so I’m constantly thinking and working on building the brand, which can be a 24/7 job and challenging at times. However, I do try and keep weekday evenings and time on weekends for family, friends and myself.
