What’s your story?
I’m a mother of 2 lively boys. I love traveling, and I lived in 5 countries across the world.
How & Why did you start your company/passion work?
I fell in love with Singapore when I arrived, and every weekend I would bring my husband and kids to visit new places. That’s how I started creating engaging activities for them to play during the visits.
How do you bring BALANCE to your roles as MOTHER: FOUNDER: SELF?
Finding a balance is always challenging, but starting your own business will give you the flexibility to play both roles.
What would you like to say to fellow mothers or women thinking of starting a business?
If you are passionate, go for it! Getting results and making it work will be challenging, so you need to be passionate about what you do to survive the entrepreneurship journey.

The face behind The Eco-Statement- Sangeetha Nair
What’s your story?
I have a deep interest in the field of sustainable urban living. I am the founder of The Eco-Statement (www.theecostatement.com) and the creator of Singapore’s 1st Eco Board Game and Card Game). I created the games to bring fun and engagement for children as they learn about sustainability and sustainable living (these are big words and concepts for our little ones to understand!). I hope that learning through play nurtures in children the love for our world; trusting that they will look after what they love.
How & Why did you start your company/passion work?
As an Educator, I have been talking and teaching about Sustainability issues, Sustainable Development. Through the journey the question that keeps coming to me is: How can we equip our future generation to face Sustainability related risks & challenges? How can we cultivate the values & mindset of Sustainable Living? Establishing aspects of Sustainable Living as part of everyone’s day-to-day existence through fun and activities eventually became a solution that should empower everyone to create their own ‘Eco-Statement’. I hope that learning through play nurtures in children the love for our world; trusting that they will look after what they love.
How do you bring BALANCE to your roles as MOTHER: FOUNDER: SELF?
Juggle like a pro! Prioritize, delegate, flex, and remember to sneak in some “me time” for sanity’s sake.

Who is Lena Wong, the founder of Womentors Ltd & Hong Kong Momtrepreneurs Ltd
What’s your story?
I started the journey from Finance career to being full-time mom and from founding a charity to running my own business.
How & Why did you start your company/passion work? Did you have a crossroad moment?
I didn’t have any crossroad moments, my two girls have always been the biggest motivations for me. As a result, after investing the first few years focusing on the family and accompanying my two lovely daughters, I decided to be a good role model for my kids by showing them how to find my own values at work, eventually, I landed myself into the social innovation space by founding Hong Kong Momtrepreneurs, a non-profit organization that empowers mothers to continue having their venture. I later founded a new venture Womentors to build better workplaces for companies and professional women.
How do you bring BALANCE to your roles as MOTHER:FOUNDER:SELF?
As a mother of two girls, I’m passionate about building a more empathic world with more gratitude for the next generation. As an entrepreneur, I’m enthusiastic about the work I created and in my leisure time, I enjoy having a sip of coffee or wine with friends and am eager to learn.

As co-founders and working parents, balancing the responsibilities of family, a full-time job, and managing a business proved to be particularly demanding. However, with the invaluable support and empathy of our loved ones, we were able to navigate some of these complexities and are making progress with achieving a suitable work-life balance.
Any recent accomplishment you would like to share with us? (personal/professional)
Partnering with May (my co-founder) to successfully launch our company based on a teaching methodology that we have developed. We have maintained our vision of teaching throughout the years, and the recognition from our students as well as their outstanding improvements in Mandarin is something I’m very proud of.
What would you like to say to fellow mothers or women thinking of starting a business?
As a businesswoman and a mother, I can personally attest to the fact that motherhood cultivates invaluable qualities that can be harnessed effectively when starting a business. These include strong multitasking abilities, unending patience, unmatched adaptability, resilience, and an extraordinary ability to nurture and grow. Our passions fuel us on this entrepreneurial journey. However, balancing the responsibilities of motherhood and business requires resilience and exceptional organizational skills. It’s crucial to remember that seeking help when needed is not a sign of weakness but a strength. Our authenticity, coupled with the skills we’ve developed through motherhood, can become an integral part of our businesses. When we allow these qualities to shine through our brands, we can distinguish ourselves and create a unique edge in the entrepreneurial world.

Who is Ayeshah from The Happiness Ftt?
As Ayeshah says:
Ayeshah & Rabi who consider themselves to be ‘purpose-preneurs’ are the co-founders of a Holistic Wellbeing & Lifestyle movement called The Happiness Ftt. Over the last few years they have focused on developing a deeper knowledge of how happiness & inner peace is only attainable when we are in unison with our mind, body and soul.
Ayeshah is a mother of three boys (22, 17 and 15yrs old) and a 10yr old American Cocker Spaniel. She co-founded The Happiness Ftt at the age of 45. Putting into practice all that she believes in and has learnt over the years; that it’s the balance and harmony between our mind, body and soul that brings contentment and happiness within and around us. When there is gratitude, love and joy in our hearts then fear will simply have no place to stay there.
Ayeshah is a Holistic wellbeing and lifestyle coach. Her focus is especially on healing our energy – healing the self. Being a trained Reiki Master and a Past Life Regression Therapist, she promotes and believes in clearing and balancing energy through reiki, past life regression, feng shui, meditation and dancing. She is also a certified fitness and dance fitness coach and loves to keep her own energy grounded by teaching DC2 (Dance, Circuit, Core) a group fitness session that she has developed. She is also a trained Montessori teacher and a complete believer of the Maria Montessori philosophy.
It’s never too late to pursue what you believe in and there is no age limit to accomplish and achieve things that you are passionate about. The biggest gift you can give your children is to lead by example. I believe that our children clearly show us glimpses of their strengths & passions and as parents we need to be aware and encourage them on their guided destined path.

I started my company 10 years ago. My passion has always been in dancing but I was never encouraged to pursue it. I started working and took up dance classes as a hobby. I was spotted in one of the classes and was asked if I wanted to be an instructor. I took up the challenge and never looked back since. Even when I went through a tough phase in my life, battling with depression etc, dance was my avenue out and I realised how much it can actually help others as well. I started my own company then. After becoming a mom, somehow, I seem to have inspired more moms to join the bandwagon and now we have a community of moms as well in our dance classes.
